Sales Tax Registration Services

Far too often, we have been engaged fix sales tax registrations provided by another firm or that the company conducted itself.

Without proper follow through, a company may find itself registered for a sales tax account for which it has not set up the tax profile in the state portal, or collecting sales tax in a state in which it is not registered properly.

For the states in which the we assist clients to determine they must register for sales tax (“nexus states”), we register the appropriate entity for sales tax purposes, from preparing and submitting the application to setting up the tax return profile in the state portal and setting up the filling calendar in tax automation solutions the client utilizes. To expedite the process, our clients complete a Registration Information file, containing all relevant information and documentation necessary to complete the registrations. Prior to proceeding, we will mutually agree to the list of states in which we will register for a sales tax account.

We then prepare sales tax registration forms (paper or electronic, as required), and submit to the jurisdiction (taxing authority or state) with a current effective date (to be determined) for the sales tax account. We set up all e-file login credentials for the sales tax account once obtained. We also provide a secure link to all registration documents and a Master Registration schedule (containing all pertinent account details, such as account #, login ID/pw; filing frequency and a link to the e-file portals), which the Company may use to maintain the sales tax account profile information as received by the states.
