Dana is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the sales and use tax sector within private industry, including 10 years at Avalara. Dedicated to understanding her clients' needs, she is unwavering in her commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, believing that without customer service, there are no customers.
Dana specializes in developing innovative solutions to streamline sales and use tax processes while enhancing operational efficiencies. Prior to joining Dillon Tax Consulting, Dana spearheaded the development of Avalara’s proprietary Managed Returns for Accountants (MRA) software platform, which transformed how accounting firms manage sales and use tax returns. This groundbreaking tool enabled firms to process returns internally with improved efficiency and accuracy. In addition to designing the platform, Dana managed the Avalara team that utilized MRA to file returns for clients, ensuring compliance with deadlines and regulatory standards.
Dana holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Central Washington University. Beyond her academic foundation, she has excelled in various operational areas:

Dana resides in Washington State with her son, Aiden. She treasures their time together, often cheering him on during soccer matches and celebrating the lessons he learns from the sport. Dana also enjoys hiking local trails, staying active at the gym, and unwinding with crime shows or a great book. A devoted sports enthusiast, she is a passionate supporter of the Denver Broncos.
